Whos Next is the Best Ablum ever made in my opinion. Sublime Guitar work by Townsend anchored by the Ox with Moon jamming those drums like the Iconic legend he is.
btw…Towsnend once said Keith Moon was so fast on the drums it sounded like machine guns going off and you had to slow down the sound to hear the indiviual beats…..But the whole is greater then the sum of the parts. No one in the entire history of rock and roll combined harmony with high energy better then the Who did .

I did 90 to this song more times than I could tell. Thank God there were always laws and law enforcement to keep me from doing myself in….

Heck YEAH you should post that. Everybody would be stoked!

the beginning of any live versions of ‘heaven and hell’ moonie kills it.
also i have a bootleg from 1969 UK show and moon must have been on something pretty strong… all his fills seem faster (if possible). there is one on ‘i can’t explain’ he does a roll in like half a second it’s something. i’ll post it if you want.

Right ON!. I am the same age as you and I thank God I grew up in the era where music and art were not a electronic digit.
The WHO will always have great memories for me. I remember I saved up enough money and bought Who’s Next on cassette for $4.99 back in 72-73..
My mom was not happy about the cover!

I grew up copying this guy’s drumming in the 70’s. That’s why I went nuts in the 80’s when everybody wanted the drummer to play like a drum machine - no fills, straight beat.
But this is rock drumming at it’s finest.
This is how you’re supposed to play drums.

its sure in the running for best song ever. this song and the who have grown on me tremendously as ive gotten older. this may sound blasphenous, but i didnt like the who in the 70’s. now i think “whos next” is in the top ten best rock albums.

Pete sings this one. I love the riff at the beginning. One of my favorites on the acoustic.

Pete sings this song, right? Daltry’s voice was too rough to sound like that.
